If you need to change alot of file extensions for files in windows, you don't have to do them one by one. This guide will show you how to change the same files extensions, located in the same directory, to a different extension, all at one time.

Difficulty level: Advanced

Instructions:

Open the start menu.
In the search field write "cmd" and press enter.

Navigate to the directory where the files you wish to change their extensions are.

You can write "dir" to see the files and their extensions.
In this example the files have a jpg extension.

To rename all the jpg files to jpeg just type:

rename *.jpg *.jpeg

The first extension (in this case jpg) is the one you are going to change and the second one (in this case jpeg) is the one you are going to change to.

Notice that you can change the extensions to suit your needs.

Write "dir" to make sure that the extensions changed.
